You get a bedroom in one of our artist cottages along with a studio part of this DIY residency!

The residency is open to artists over the age of 21.

Residency periods are flexible and can be discussed with MGSoA on a case-by-case basis.

The residency fee covers:

  • a private bedroom

  • ~11x14 studio space

  • shared use of common areas in cottages, such as kitchens, bathrooms, and living rooms.

  • Internet

4 hours of program service to the residency are expected each week. Residents are responsible for complying with an organized family-style housekeeping routine in addition to the program service requirement.

Residency fee:

  • The fee varies depending on each artist’s needs, time of year, and the extent of your use of our facilities. Please have a discussion with us about your residency fee. The minimum fee is usually $250 no matter what the length of your stay.

  • A caution deposit of $100 is due on or before arrival (refundable after successful housing/studio inspection, and may also be retained for expenses incurred by MGSoA due to misconduct or negligence).

  • A non-refundable placeholder deposit equal to 1/2 of your total residency fee or $500, whichever is lower, is due within 5 days of admission to Art Bubble, paid via credit card, PayPal, or bank draft. The placeholder deposit counts toward your remaining balance.

  • We do have three small intaglio presses that may be used in discussion with MGSoA.

  • We understand that everyone’s situation is different. Feel free to talk with us about your unique situation and we’ll see if we can come up with a solution that fits.

Cottages are co-ed, however, we do carefully screen applicants. Residents are expected to show outstanding social skills and discipline in the housing and studio environment.

All residents must have another permanent place of residence, and may not use this residency as primary residence or transitional housing.

Accommodations, bedrooms, and studios vary. We won’t adjust the fee based on the relative quality of accommodations.

MGSoA reserves the right not to admit applicants to the Art Bubble Residency for any reason not in violation of our non-discrimination policy.
